Our History
The "Castle Rock Senior Citizens Center" was incorporated in 1980. With the help of a $30,000 grant from the Safeco Insurance Company, the city was able to convert the old police three-car garage into the facility that is now the Castle Rock Senior Center. On July 25, 1981, the completion of the Senior Center build out was celebrated with its very first potluck meal. Senior Center Founder and President Les Kettwig said he hoped the potluck would become "a monthly affair". Indeed it has!
